Katniss doesnt deserve someone as wonderful as Gale. Just saying <3
Gale is wonderful, but I do think that Peeta's wonderful too, and he is better matched for Katniss. But Peeta and Katniss are both a bit off their rockers, whereas Gale is mostly sane, so there's that.
